The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a mid-level Cloud Engineer to join our cloud operations team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will become part of the Datacenter Consolidation and Cloud Optimization (DCCO) program supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Cloud Engineer will support applications hosted on the AWS and Azure Gov Cloud environment and maintain Windows and Linux server operating systems. Successful candidates will utilize their experience to help design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications and manage small- and large-scale cloud solutions as part of Operations and Maintenance activities. The Cloud Engineer is responsible for identifying scalable solutions using an in-depth coding, scripting, programming, and automation skillset with cloud native tools to create innovative and optimized cloud solutions. This includes integrating cloud services, automating deployment and operations, ensuring security and compliance, monitoring and performance optimization as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams consisting of subject matter experts (SMEs), technical personnel, and project management personnel.

Responsibilities:

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for cloud operations and maintenance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

+ Develop and support applications that are optimized for cloud environments, leveraging cloud-native technologies such as AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or Google Cloud Functions to handle business logic, data processing, and integration with databases and external systems.

+ Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.

+ Support the development and integration of cloud services and APIs into applications to leverage infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS).

+ Work with cloud services such as compute instances, databases, storage, messaging, and identity and access management (IAM) to meet application requirements.

+ Support the automated deployment, provisioning, and management of applications and infrastructure using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, or Google Cloud Deployment Manager. Implement continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to streamline development and operations processes.

+ Automate and streamline the deployment, operations, and management of cloud-based applications and infrastructure. This includes leveraging DevOps principles, practices, and tools to implement continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing to accelerate development cycles and improve collaboration between development and operations teams.

+ Engineer, install, maintain, configure, and optimize server operating systems (Windows and Linux) and hosted applications hosted in the AWS and Azure Cloud environments.

+ Perform analysis for collaboration of network / system needs and participate in planning, designing, upgrading and deployment using a project-based timeline.

+ Apply appropriate security measures to properly safeguard government systems by implementing industry standard best practices and DHS mandated mitigations.

+ Design, build, test, and deploy highly scalable and resilient cloud-based applications on private and public cloud.

Qualifications:

_Required:_

+ Ability to obtain TS/SCI DoD Security Clearance (active TS preferred)

+ Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry on Duty (EOD) - Active EOD preferred.

+ BA/BS and 5-7 years’ experience in a related field, or equivalent (equivalency includes MA + 3-5 years applicable experience or AA + 7-9 years applicable experience)

+ At least one Azure or AWS certification

+ Demonstrated experience with designing and developing cloud applications using cloud-native tools.

+ Demonstrated experience with programming and infrastructure automation (JSON, YAML, Python, Terraform, Ansible)

+ Demonstrated experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for various systems.

+ Demonstrated experience with core cloud services to include DevSecOps, monitoring, data visualization, and environment management services.

+ Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Confluence

+ Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

+ Advanced MS Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)

_Desired:_

+ Previous DHS or DoD experience

+ Any of the following certifications is highly desired:

+ Senior-level AWS or Azure certification (i.e., Azure Developer Associate/Solutions Architect Expert, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Certified Developer Associate)

+ Azure

+ ITIL Foundation

+ Other IT technical certifications

**Pay Range** : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$113,200 - $237,800
