    Purpose/Summa r y

     

    The pri m ary functi o n is to lead a n d ma n age, with min i mal input from the manager, the cross-functional APQP and launch team (90 days after S O P) in the framework of the ABC Quality Man a gement Syst e m (QMS). The position will manage multiple programs, ensuring on-time delivery of all APQP, launch,  a nd limited financ i al per f orm a nce as p ects a ss o c ia t ed with the project.

    Overall APQP and launch r esponsibility,” in a ccordance with ABC QMS and official APQP g u idelin e s . Main conduit between A k ebono manufacturing p lan t s, the corpora t e facilities ( A EC) and the customer in reg a r d s to APQP, launch, a nd delivery a c tivities. On-site at manufacturi n g location, on an a s nee d ed bas i s to e n s u r e APQP and launch c o or d ination.

     

    •      D efine, g e nerate and ma na ge co m po n e n t and su b - s y stem timing a n d roll-up timi n g for Ake b o n o plants, i n c lud i ng co m po n e n ts, s uppl i ers and custo m er mileston e s

    •      Lead cr o ss-f u nctio n al APQP meetings, i ncl u ding int e rnal and e x ternal (cust o mer and s u ppli e rs)

    •      Manage and t r ack open issues as they aff e ct the APQP process, m i lesto n es, a n d deliverab l es

    •      Ens u r e “On- T ime-Deliver y ” (OTD) and “In-Co s t ” (IC) of all k ey APQP elements, d efine r e cov e ry plan for late items or ele m ents “ou t side of defined cost targets”, a n d use appro p riate e s calation p r o c e s s

    •      Provide Voice of Manufac t uring to cust o mer by lead in g all “Pro g r a m Reviews” a s defin e d by Akeb o no

     

    APQP and ABC QMS.

     

    •      Gen e rate a n d present “Pr o gram Revi e ws” to Executi v e Mana g em e nt (acc o rdi n g to stand a rd f o rmat)

    •      Mana g e all progr a m elem e nts of ABC QMS (to be re v iew e d upon r e qu e st).

    •      Provide Bus i ness input to all a s sociated prog r am Change reque s ts - C Rs (approve/reje c t authority)

     

    until 90 days post SOP.

     

    •      C o o rdi n ate custom e r bui ld s and W o rk with manufact u ring a n d en g i neer i ng to de f ine prototype strategy.

    •      Mana g e the OTD of all m aterial supply chain, capital equipm e nt and tooling for pro d uct la u nch,

    including Process Sign-Of f , PTR, and PPAP submission

    •      Manage the execution with plant PPM  the Safe-Launch including m ana g e/r e sol v e any pro d uc t ion delivery c o ncer n s

    •      Perform ot h er duties a s assigned

     

    Education a nd/or Exper i ence (mini m um required for t h e posit i on)

     

    Bache l or ' s d e gree in E n gi n eering or Business (B. S.) from four - ye a r colle g e or u n iversity and a minimum of great e r th a n 5 years j o b p r o g ram m ana g ement o r equival e nt e xperie n c e d i rectly related t o foundati o n brake and/or friction mater i al engineer in g. Familiarity with the c u s t o mer prod u ct develop m ent pr o c e ss i s necess a ry.

    •      Ability to use conventional e-mail and engineering off i ce soft w a re (Mi c r osoft Off ic e Produ c ts to com m un i cate concep t s, etc.) and MS Project for timing charts s o ftware preferr e d.

    •      Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common techn i cal jour n a l s, financial repor t s , and legal documen t s. Ability to respond to c om mo n inquir i es or comp l aints from c u s tom e rs, regu l atory age n ci e s , or memb e r s of t he b u sin e ss community.

    •      Ability to eff e ctively prese n t information to top management, public gro u ps, a n d/ o r bo a r d s of dir e ctors.

    •      Ability to represent Akebono Corporation i nteres t s in the cus t om e r ’ s env i r o nm en t w h ile maintaini n g a coo p erative rel a tio n ship w i th the cust om er.

    •      Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and s tati s ti c al in f eren c e, and fundam e ntals of plane and solid g eome t ry and trigon o metry.

    •      Ability to apply concepts such a s fractions, pe r centages, rati o s , and pro p orti o ns to pract i c al situatio n s .

    •      Ability to def i ne problems, collect data, establ i s h facts, and draw v alid conc l usions. Ability to inter p ret an e xtensive vari e ty of techn i cal instr u ctio n s in mathemat i cal or dia g ram form and d eal with sev e r al a bstr a c t and concrete var ia bles.
