What You'll Do
The Principal Financial Group is seeking a CFO - PAS & Indvidual Solutions! We're looking for someone who wants to join a high-impact senior finance team driving profitable growth across Workplace Savings & Retirement Solutions (WSRS). As the lead financial officer for Individual Solutions and Principal Advised Services (PAS), you'll shape strategy, guide financial management, and play a key role in retirement offerings across Principal Financial Group including DC, DB, NQ, ESOP, Trust & Custody, and investments.
What You'll Do:
+ Lead pricing, financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis for domestic and international retirement products.
+ Act as a strategic advisor on financial risk, investment needs, product strategy, pricing, and design.
+ Ensure full compliance with relevant regulations across markets.
+ Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team while championing organizational learning and change leadership.
+ Provide financial leadership across business units, contributing to strategic planning and senior decision-making.
+ Represent Principal externally through industry committees, vendor engagement, and client presentations.

Who You Are
• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in finance and/or accounting, plus 10+ years' experience in financial services required
• Post-graduate study resulting in MBA, CPA and/or CFA degrees preferred
• Advanced knowledge of retirement plan services & products required and advanced knowledge of company products preferred
• Executive level communication skills with experience presenting recommendations to senior officers and/or board members
• Experience formally leading high-performing teams.
• Advanced planning/organizational, problem-solving, oral and written communication, listening, presentation, analytical, leadership, accuracy and detail orientation, time management, decision making skills required
• Ability to prepare, present, and interpret financial reports, along with ability to evaluate and compare financial performance with industry competitors
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$174000 - $236000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments
This role offers hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) in our corporate office in Des Moines, Iowa.
