    Job Description

    **DUTIES:** Build multi body dynamics models and utilize to integrate control systems as required for performance simulations. Support the development of cross functional simulation Master Model framework and data management to integrate control systems used in the vehicle development simulations. Further virtual development capability by creating new CAE load cases consistent with objective tests and subjective evaluations. Integrate cross-functional vehicle dynamics model including chassis & propulsion controls and physics and act as a single point of contact for users inside and outside of team. Continually improve fidelity of chassis / vehicle models. Support and enable transition from hardware/on-road based development to lab and CAE environments through collaboration with vehicle development and objective test counterparts. Interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross‐functionally and cross‐culturally to grow relationships and partnerships. Ability to communicate, empower and influence others to enable world class designs, packaging efficiency and vehicle integration across SMT’s and Development teams. Promotes GM's values and helps team make customer-focused decisions. Collaborate with global VDDV partners on product design and capability improvement. Establish optimized suspension and steering kinematic and compliance properties. Virtually integrate chassis tuning parts to meet vehicle-level ride, handling and steering targets. Optimize body and chassis structure cross-functionally with appropriate teams. Predict chassis interface loads to facilitate body, chassis component and exhaust system design. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office. 10% travel to client sites nationwide.

    **REQUIREMENTS:** Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study. Two (2) years of experience as a Mechatronics Engineer, or related occupation. Must also have two (2) years of experience in the following: Multibody and controls integration CAE tools including Simpack, ADAMS and MotionView, Carsim, Carmarker, and Matlab and Simulink; Vehicle dynamics and multi body dynamics modeling; In-depth knowledge on the operation of active chassis systems including EBCM, ARS, SADS and EPS and associated simulation modeling and integration into complex mechatronics cosimulation platforms; In-depth knowledge on the operation of active chassis systems including EBCM, ARS, SADS and EPS and associated simulation modeling and integration into complex mechatronics cosimulation platforms; Simulation Data Management tools, with in-depth knowledge of GIT version control systems including MD-Gerrit and GitHub; Supporting and developing HiL (Hardware in the Loop) and SiL (Software in the Loop) environments; Tire models including SWIFT, FTire and MF variations, and their integration into complex full vehicle dynamics cosimulation platforms; and Simulation modeling and integration of real time environments supporting DiL/HiL applications.
