    This position provides high-level legal and administrative office support services to judges and staff attorneys of the Workers’ Compensation (WC) and Administrative Law (Ad Law) Courts at the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) and the Municipal Boundary Adjustment Unit (MBAU). Work is performed according to legal reference and OAH style manuals, and Minnesota Statutes, Chapters 14, 176, 414, and 442A and Minnesota Rules Chapters 1400, 1450, 1420, and 6000.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Skill in preparing and processing legal documents.

    + Skill in document and records management sufficient to accurately file and categorize electronic documents.

    + Ability to plan, schedule, assign, review, coach and report on work activities of legal administrative assistants.

    + Ability to explain the reasons for transactions, procedures, rules and regulations so that others understand the information they are being given.

    + Ability to perform job duties with politeness, respect and interest in position problem solving.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Strong workers' compensation and administrative law background and knowledge.

    + Knowledge of Municipal Boundary Adjustment Unit.

    + Expertise in the Office of Administrative Hearings' case management system or a similar case management system.

    + Paralegal or legal secretary certificate or two (2) years of work experience as a paralegal or legal assistant.

    + Experience in planning, scheduling, assigning, reviewing, coaching, and reporting on work activities of legal assistants.

    Physical Requirements

    + Work in a seated or standing position for extended periods of time.

    + Use of a keyboard for extended periods of time which may include repetitive motion.
