Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC router machines to cut, shape, and finish materials such as wood, plastic, metal, or composites.

Work with a wide variety of materials, including plastics, aluminum, PVC, and engraving materials.

Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to determine machining processes.

Load materials and tools into machines and perform necessary adjustments for accurate machining.

Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency, making real-time adjustments as needed.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC routers to minimize downtime.

Operate and maintain current CNC routers including the Gerber 408 Router and Saber 408 Router.

Note: These models are being phased out; candidates with experience on modern routers such as Inventables X-Carve Pro 4×4, ShopSabre Pro 408, BobsCNC KL744, or Zenbot 4848 are encouraged to apply.

Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.

Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues.

Document production activities, including setup details, machine logs, and quality control reports.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of experience operating CNC routers

Strong experience with server navigation and general technical troubleshooting.

Ability to program shapes and operate CNC machinery with precision.

Tech-savvy and comfortable navigating computer systems and software interfaces.

Familiarity with Omega and Composer tools preferred; experience with comparable software is acceptable.

Experience with nesting software and managing complex material layouts is essential. Experience working with multiple materials (wood, plastic, metal, composites).

Background in sign manufacturing, cabinetry, or precision machining.

Ability to optimize tool paths or suggest process improvements.

Strong documentation and reporting skills. null
