Job Description

Our Client is looking to bring on a local to Miami Florida, Senior IT Project Manager to help with an array of IT infrastructure related projects. This person will touch a broad array of projects that involve migrations and implementations of operating system upgrades and installations; VMware server builds; backup appliance implementations; storage capacity upgrades; server upgrades, migrations, and deployments; and coordinate logistics that involve equipment ordering, shipment, delivery, and cost tracking. This person will work across multiple fleets on ships and have versatility in their project background. This person will need a full life cycle project management background and must understand the process of creating steps and sequences from the technical side of a project plan.

Skills and Requirements

15+ years of experience as a Senior Technical Project Manager within enterprise level companies specializing and leading infrastructure projects

Experience working on or with shipboard deployments, migrations, and implementations

Has experience coordinating migrations and implementations of operating system upgrades and installations (Linux or Windows)

Strong experience managing logistics and how they pertain to a project plan (equipment ordering, shipment, delivery, and cost tracking CapEx/OpEx)

Background with projects related to VMware server builds and backup appliance implementations

Experience with Oracle and MS SQL databases for upgrades and installations

Project experience within software development, SaaS, COTS, cloud, and networking devices (core switches, wireless controllers, satellites/wireless networks)

Experience working on projects involved with storage/backups and capacity increases

o Dell Compellent, EMC VNX/Unity/Vmax, or Veritas Netbackup

Experience working on projects related to replacing document management systems in the cloud

15 years of experience running Waterfall methodology for projects

Strong communicator, able to hold people accountable will be giving executive presentations

o Stressing the importance of soft people skills and communication for maximum program efficiency

MUST HAVE great personality (exciting, engaging, not shy) able to communicate clearly across leaders and executives hold people accountable to drive projects forward PMP (HIGHLY PREFERRED)

PPM tools such as Clarity

Past experience in travel industry
