    Specialist, Graphic Designer** **Position Profile

     

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative **Production Print Graphic Designer** to join our team. This role focuses on designing and preparing high-quality print materials that align with brand standards and production specifications. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite on a Mac, follow brand guidelines provided by customers, and balance a workload of **70% production print** and **30% design work** —including file fixes, preflighting, templating, and occasional full design projects.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    + Demonstrates excellent customer service and represents Ricoh professionally.

    + Strong organizational, customer service, and follow-up skills.

    + Develops artistic concepts into visual media.

    + Designs using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver on Mac and PC platforms.

    + Provides graphic consultation and support to internal and client stakeholders.

    + Responsible for production art including layout for print, packaging, advertising, point-of-purchase, and digital graphics.

    + Meets customer quality and design requirements.

    + Designs and formats multi-page documents using style sheets and mapping.

    + Stays current with industry trends, ideas, and technologies.

    + Uses innovation to meet design briefs within cost, time, and client constraints.

    + Adheres to legal requirements related to duplication, printing, software, and fonts.

    + Follows production schedules and meets deadlines.

    + Consults with clients and staff to identify graphic needs, budget constraints, and project timelines.

    + Reviews proofs and collaborates with printers on production.

    + Manages digital asset libraries and technologies.

    + May coordinate and lead other designers.

    + Creates and conceptualizes brand identities using logos, layouts, and color palettes.

    + Performs other tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

    + Bachelor’s degree in Design preferred, or equivalent coursework/certification.

    + Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.

    + Proven design and layout abilities.

    + Minimum of 3 years of related experience.

    + Print production experience preferred.

    + Project management experience preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    + Strong graphic design and layout skills.

    + Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

    + Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

    + Adaptability and flexibility in changing situations.

    + Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and output standards.

    + High attention to detail.

    + Creativity and problem-solving skills.

    + Deadline-oriented mindset.

    Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands

    + Typically works in an office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and noise levels.

    + Regular internal contact with team members and external contact with clients, vendors, and the public.

    + Work assignments may require developing new solutions to resolve problems.

    + Physical effort may include walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

    + Moderate dexterity required for operating tools and equipment (e.g., keyboard, calculator, hand tools).
