About the Team
Reporting to the Head of Legal for North America and serving as a key member of the CVS leadership team, the key purpose of the Senior Legal Counsel role is to provide strategic and day-to-day legal support to ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) Division, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This position plays a critical role in advising business leaders, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting the division’s operations and growth initiatives across North America and globally.
What you can look forward to as a Senior Legal Counsel:
+ Being a Compliance Officer for CVS North America
+ Serving as a voting member for PPAC regarding CVS issues globally and in North America
+ Contract drafting, negotiation and advisory responsibilities for major transactions and agreements with customers and suppliers
+ Advising business clients directly on legal and matters including a clear identification of legal and commercial risks
+ Coordinating with legal colleagues in other functions or regions, business clients in North American region and globally and with outside counsel as needed
+ Advising and participating in global corporate projects (e.g., re-namings, acquisitions, internal reorganizations, etc.)
+ Creating, implementing and training on policies, processes and guidelines (e.g., corporate policies, template agreements, NDAs, etc.)
+ Training as needed (e.g., Antitrust, marketing, compliance, etc.), and supporting other commercial and corporate legal matters
Your profile as a Senior Legal Counsel:
+ Juris Doctor degree
+ Member of Michigan Bar (preferred vs another state)
+ 7+ years experience as a Legal Counsel, preferably in an automotive environment
+ Excellent knowledge and understanding of commercial law and procedures
+ High degree of professional ethics and integrity
+ Strategic mindset: ability to analyze situations and information and communicate pragmatic legal advice
+ Ability to work independently, acts with passion, willing to go over and above
+ Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
