About the Role:
As the Head Coach, you’ll serve as the leader for UMF’s Men’s Golf program—charting the course and handling day-to-day operations. Beyond managing practices, matches, and recruiting efforts, you’ll play a vital role in mentoring our student-athletes, fostering both their athletic and academic success.

The golf season traditionally runs from August 15 through November 15, with a non-traditional spring season from March 15 through May 15. Hours must be flexible to attend away matches and varied training times. This is a part-time temporary position that will compensate up to $7,000.
Essential Duties
+ Instructs and coaches student-athletes during practices, training sessions, and competitions.
+ Provides on-course coaching and support during training and competitive play.
+ Prepares film analysis for player development and presents findings to team members.
+ Plans, organizes, and implements training sessions and competition strategies.
+ Coordinates team schedules, including practices, competitions, travel, and meals.
+ Scouts and recruits prospective student-athletes; builds and maintains relationships with recruits and their families.
+ Supports student-athletes in their leadership development and personal growth.
+ Ensures the safety, health, and well-being of all student-athletes.
+ Monitors and promotes academic success and personal development among team members.
+ Coordinates and oversees team strength and conditioning/off-season training programs to support injury prevention and performance enhancement.
+ Develops and manages the program’s budget and scheduling within assigned parameters.
+ Maintains compliance with NCAA, North Atlantic Conference (NAC), and institutional policies and regulations.
+ Oversees the daily operations of the program, including equipment and logistical needs.
+ Serves as a positive role model and mentor for college-age student-athletes.
+ Fosters alumni engagement and support for the men’s golf program.
+ Participates in fundraising efforts to support program initiatives.
+ Collaborates effectively with Athletics Department staff and attends departmental meetings and trainings.

Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Three years (3) of applicable experience (those with any combination of equivalent experience and/or education are encouraged to apply)
+ Familiarity with NCAA/NAC standards, bylaws, and procedures
+ Ability to travel extensively, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends
+ CPR/First Aid certified on hire date or within thirty (30) days
+ Valid driver’s license (in good standing, based on UMS standards)
Preferred Qualification
+ Master's degree
+ Intercollegiate coaching experience
+ Managerial and/or supervisory experience
+ Experience participating in intercollegiate golf as a competitor
+ Recruiting platform experience (i.e., Front Rush or comparable program)
+ Experience (education and certification) with strength and conditioning for performance
+ Experience competing in collegiate golf
+ Ability to forecast expenses and manage a budget (revenue, expenses, reports/reconciliation)
+ Demonstrated ability to run effective fundraisers
+ Demonstrated effective recruiting experience (experience effectively using Front Rush or a comparable program)
