About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Institutional Investment Operations Specialist to work on the Security Master/Product Data team, which is a part of Corporate and Investment Banking Operations Shared Services team.
Security Master Ops team is responsible for the accurate and timely set up and maintenance of product/instrument reference data in our Product Reference Data platforms. This includes equities, fixed income and listed derivative products globally. We are responsible to deliver exceptional client service, manage risk, identify process improvement opportunities, and provide data stewardship and subject matter expertise to help lead our day to day and transformation efforts in support of our clients, business partners and regulatory initiatives.
In this role, you will:
+ Be responsible for the accurate and timely product set up, maintenance, and exception management processing for all product reference data asset classes including fixed income (agency, corporate, mortgage backed, sovereign, structured products, etc…) equities and listed derivative data globally.
+ Work in a fast-paced environment, be able to multi-task and prioritize your daily workload to meet tight deadlines and close out all daily tasks on time and ensure proper and timely escalation when issues arise.
+ Be responsible for managing risk, maintaining procedures, enhancing metrics, and continually looking for process improvement opportunities that create operational efficiencies to improve client service and/or reduce risk.
+ Actively steward our security master data with data driven metrics to provide high quality client service support to investigate, manage data life cycle events that impact the products we support.
+ Analyze complex issues raised by our data partners and consumers, collaborate across multiple teams, identify the root cause, and propose both tactical and strategic solutions to solve these issues.
+ Research and resolve proactive data exceptions from various control processes and ensure timely corrections are made in our Security Master and/or Broadridge systems
+ Collaborate and build strong partnerships with our business partners, technology teams, risk partners to proactively solve issues, improve workflows and communicate weekly accomplishments to senior management.
+ Analyze large data sets leveraging various technologies (e.g. SQL, Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, etc…) to solve complex issues, help drive business requirements for Tech enhancements that will drive transformational change in our space to better serve our clients, increase scalability to support business growth, and meet changing regulatory requirements.
+ Lead complex initiatives in operational and customer service for lifecycle support for institutional trade flow functions including client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding or custodial operations, securities settlement services, structure loan operations, reconciliation as well as support resolution of issues in and out of their responsibility
+ Act as key participant in large scale planning, gathering data to support resolution of issues in areas in and out of responsibility
+ Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted loan, securities and derivative products requiring understanding of the function, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
+ Influence and lead broader work to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
+ Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
+ Analyze complex issues raised by our data partners and consumers, collaborate across multiple teams, identify the root cause, and propose both tactical and strategic solutions to solve these issues.
+ Review and analyze both regulatory and market data changes to assess impact to our Reference Data systems and processes, and help document requirements, user stories, success criteria and test scripts to support our agile framework with our Technology partners.
+ Proactively steward our product reference data, provide high quality client service support, and continually look for process improvement opportunities that will create operational efficiencies to improve client service and/or reduce risk.
+ Utilize technology (e.g. Excel. SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, etc…) and analytical skills to continually improve our data quality program by helping identify data anomalies, process inefficiencies, data defects and design dashboards and workflows to help our team manage and steward our reference data more effectively.
+ Work with internal Data Governance teams to analyze, solve and remediate any data defects identified in our Reference Data systems.
Required Qualifications:
+ 5+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
+ Experience with product/security master reference data
+ Experience with Broadridge applications (Impact, BPS, and Gloss)
+ Experience with market data providers such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, GMI, EMBS, SIX Financial, DTCC, etc…
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills
+ Analytical individual with an ability to focus on the big picture, while understanding and promoting details across multiple groups.
+ Ability to prioritize & manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline-driven change environment.
+ Ability to build relationships and collaborate with business partners across the organization.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong time management and prioritization skills.
+ Ability to analyze business situations and problem solve, including making recommendations for resolution.
+ Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing business initiatives.
