Description We are looking for a dedicated Paralegal to join our team in Southbury, Connecticut. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience in Trusts and Estates (T& E) or Probate law who are eager to expand their knowledge and contribute to a dynamic legal environment. The ideal candidate will possess foundational knowledge of T& E terminology and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive support in Trusts and Estates (T& E) matters, including probate and estate administration.
• Assist in case preparation, including discovery, trial preparation, and civil litigation processes.
• Utilize case management software to organize, track, and manage legal documents and case information.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support attorneys in litigation and estate-related cases.
• Draft and review legal documents, such as wills, trusts, and probate filings.
• Maintain effective communication with clients and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
• Manage deadlines and ensure timely submission of legal filings and documentation.
• Collaborate with attorneys to ensure thorough preparation for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
• Stay updated on changes in probate and estate laws to ensure compliance and accuracy in legal matters. Requirements • Experience in Trusts and Estates (T& E) or Probate law, with a solid understanding of relevant terminology.
• Proficiency in case management software and ability to adapt to new legal technologies.
• Familiarity with discovery, civil litigation, and trial preparation processes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing complex legal cases.
• Ability to draft and review legal documents with precision and clarity.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
• Willingness to learn and expand knowledge in T& E and probate-related areas.
• Knowledge of probate law and estate administration procedures.
