Description

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Clerk to join our team in Montgomery, Alabama. This is a contract position with potential to turn into a permanent position and offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment. The Payroll Clerk role involves ensuring accurate and timely review and processing of payroll for a large workforce, with a focus on efficiency and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Process direct deposit entries and verify accuracy of payroll data.

• Review and edit employee timesheets for compliance with company policies.

• Manage payroll for approximately 900 hourly employees across two facilities.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely weekly payroll processing, especially during peak times on Mondays and Tuesdays.

• Maintain accurate records of payroll activities and resolve discrepancies as needed.

• Utilize payroll software and tools to streamline payroll operations.

• Provide support for union and manufacturing payroll processes when applicable.

• Adhere to confidentiality and compliance standards in handling payroll information.

• Communicate effectively with employees and management to address payroll-related inquiries.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using payroll systems and tools.

• Experience working in ADP software is highly preferred

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis.

• Experience managing payroll for 100+ employees is preferred.

• Familiarity with union and manufacturing payroll processes is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under deadlines.

• Effective communication skills for handling employee inquiries.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Previous experience in payroll processing or a related field is required.
