Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with expertise in corporate tax and accounting processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.

• Manage sales tax reporting and filings, addressing any discrepancies or issues promptly.

• Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial data.

• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.

• Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and provide necessary documentation.

• Analyze financial statements and reports to identify trends and discrepancies.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

• Provide recommendations for improving accounting processes and efficiency. Requirements

• Proven experience in tax preparation and reporting.

• Proficiency in recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

• Familiarity with financial statement analysis and reporting.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with teams and independently when required.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
