Description

We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Swatara, Pennsylvania. This is a long-term contract position offering an opportunity to transition into a long-term role within the organization. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to accounting standards while contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly journal entries for multiple entities to accurately track revenues and expenses.

• Execute general ledger closing activities to meet financial reporting deadlines and ensure compliance with company accounting policies.

• Generate and review monthly financial statements, analyze variances against budgets, and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.

• Reconcile accounts such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll withholdings, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.

• Support year-end and preliminary audits by analyzing financial reports and providing required documentation.

• Create audit schedules and respond to audit-related requests to facilitate smooth audit processes.

• Review key accounts and transactions to identify discrepancies and ensure the financial statements are precise.

• Verify the accuracy of reserves and accruals while preparing detailed reports for management.

• Assist in maintaining accurate records for construction in progress and other fixed asset accounts.

Requirements • Proven experience in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger activities.

• Strong skills in account reconciliation across multiple account types.

• Familiarity with year-end closing processes and audit preparation.

• Ability to analyze financial statements and identify variances.

• Proficiency in investigating unusual transactions and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.

• Knowledge of fixed assets and intercompany transactions.

• Experience in preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries.

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
