Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant for our client in Geismar, Louisiana that is in rapid growth mode. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the overall efficiency of accounting operations. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

• Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Develop and implement financial strategies, forecasts, and budgets to support organizational goals.

• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with various departments to provide financial insights that aid strategic decision-making.

• Lead and mentor entry-level accounting staff, fostering a culture of growth and development.

• Analyze and resolve discrepancies in financial data to maintain integrity and consistency.

• Manage general ledger functions and ensure proper documentation of transactions.

• Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities.

• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, such as staff or senior accountant.

• Proficiency in accounting software, including NetSuite, and advanced Excel capabilities.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance requirements.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and team leadership.

• Familiarity with general ledger functions and month-end close processes.
