Controller - Construction company

Direct-Hire / Permanent position

*Fully onsite positon, 5 days per week in office role* Must be based in central Connecticut to be considered for this role.

Robert Half has partnered with a long-standing construction business in their search of a new Controller to oversee all accounting and finance functions. Reporting to the Owner, the Controller with manage 3 accounting team members and be fully hands on with leading the month-end close, WIP reporting, and job cost related responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process all Bank Reconciliations and Manage Project/Company cash flow

• Oversee company and union Payroll with weekly payroll check run

• Monthly union reporting

• Review and import all job cost projection updates

• Manage WIP report quarterly

• Post all general ledger transactions

• Handle all Depreciation transactions from asset purchase through disposal

• Directly handle all Union Audits

• Work with external accounting firm

• Process yearly 1099’s, Personal Property filings, IFTA quarterly filings, Sales & Use tax filings, and other misc. yearly filings

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Degree preferred

• 5-10 years of construction industry accounting experience

• Hands on leadership experience with business with over $50M/yr annual revenue
