Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to work in the legal industry while honing your accounting expertise. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

• Reconcile the general ledger and ensure all accounts are correctly balanced.

• Conduct detailed account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.

• Perform credit card reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.

• Manage daily reconciliation tasks to maintain up-to-date financial data.

• Collaborate with team members to support monthly and year-end closing processes.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze and organize financial data effectively.

• Provide accurate and timely financial reports to assist in decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies to uphold data integrity. Requirements • Proven experience in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger tasks.

• Strong proficiency in balance sheet and account reconciliation processes.

• Familiarity with credit card and daily reconciliation procedures.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.

• Strong problem-solving abilities to address and resolve discrepancies.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
