Key Responsibilities:
+ Patient Interaction:
+ Welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner at the front desk.
+ Check patients in and out of appointments and confirm essential information for accurate processing.
+ Phone and Appointment Management:
+ Answer phone calls in a courteous manner, respond to inquiries, and route calls to appropriate staff members.
+ Schedule patient appointments, manage cancellations, and assist with rescheduling to meet patient needs.
+ Administrative Tasks:
+ Verify insurance details and collect co-pays or outstanding balances.
+ Perform data entry, updating patient records in electronic medical records (EMR) systems accurately and promptly.
+ Coordination:
+ Collaborate with healthcare providers and office staff to ensure seamless communication and scheduling.
+ Provide assistance for medical documentation and administrative projects.
+ Other Duties:
+ Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring it is welcoming for patients.
+ Assist with other office tasks as delegated by management or supervisors.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills Required:
+ Education:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Certification or coursework in medical office administration is a plus.
+ Experience:
+ 1+ year of experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
+ Technical Skills:
+ Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or Workday) is preferred.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ Organizational Skills:
+ Excellent multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail in managing patient information.
+ Communication Skills:
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and insurance providers.
+ Interpersonal Skills:
+ A caring and empathetic demeanor, focused on creating positive patient experiences.
