Description
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Medical Coder to join our clients team. In this part time coding role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate coding for medical diagnoses and procedures while maintaining compliance with insurance and regulatory standards. This position requires precision, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently while contributing to the overall quality of patient documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes to medical diagnoses and procedures based on patient records.
• Review medical charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in clinical documentation by collaborating with healthcare providers and staff.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance and regulatory coding requirements.
• Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems efficiently to input and manage coding data.
• Ensure adherence to established coding standards and guidelines.
• Communicate professionally with clinical teams to clarify and enhance documentation.
• Monitor coding practices to minimize errors and improve overall accuracy.
• Stay informed about updates in medical coding practices, including inpatient and outpatient coding.
• Support the implementation of coding improvements or system updates as required.
Requirements
• Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is a huge plus.
• Strong proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.
• Experience with both inpatient and outpatient coding.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with coding regulations.
