Description
We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager or Director to join our team in San Diego, California. In this role, you will oversee the drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational goals. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing company dedicated to renewable energy solutions. Prior experience with construction or real estate contracts is a must.
Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and negotiate construction-related contracts, including terms and conditions, to ensure clarity and compliance.
• Analyze legal and contractual risks, providing recommendations to mitigate potential issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and preconstruction, to align contract objectives with business goals.
• Serve as a key liaison between various stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and decision-making.
• Implement and refine processes and procedures for contract management to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Utilize contract management software, such as Ironclad or equivalent systems, to streamline operations.
• Provide guidance on key contract provisions, including indemnification, liability, damages, and compliance.
• Lead the handoff process from sales and preconstruction teams, taking ownership of contract-related decisions.
• Ensure contracts align with legal requirements and industry regulations.
• Support organizational growth by contributing to the development of procurement strategies and best practices.
Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract management, negotiation, and administration.
• Expertise in construction contracts or real estate development contracts is required!
• Strong understanding of contract principles, including risk assessment and key provisions such as liability and indemnification.
• Familiarity with contract management software; experience with Ironclad is a plus.
• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent experience as a senior paralegal or contracts manager is preferred.
