Senior Fixed Assets Accountant
Our client in the King of Prussia, PA area is looking for a Senior Fixed Assets Accountant for a contract role. This position plays a vital role in managing the fixed asset lifecycle, capital expenditure tracking, and lease accounting compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in US GAAP, ASC 842 lease accounting, and fixed asset systems, along with exceptional analytical and project management skills.
Responsibilities of Senior Fixed Assets Accountant
+ Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets from acquisition through retirement
+ Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset ledger in Oracle, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
+ Track, review, and match invoices to capital projects and purchase orders
+ Collaborate closely with Engineering and IT to accurately capitalize assets as they are placed into service
+ Analyze and report on capital expenditures for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning purposes
+ Perform monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for fixed assets, capex, and leases
+ Draft fixed asset and lease disclosures for year-end audit and assist with audit documentation
+ Prepare ASC 842 lease entries, including remeasurements and journal resets
+ Utilize LeaseHarbor or similar software for lease management
+ Lead meetings with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, IT, Tax) to ensure data accuracy and compliance
+ Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting projects as needed
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications of Senior Fixed Assets Accountant
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
+ 3–5+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting and ASC 842 lease compliance
+ Proficiency with Oracle and LeaseHarbor (or similar lease accounting software
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, PivotTables)
+ Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal control standards
+ Experience with project management and capital budgeting preferred
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ High attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
+ Team-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities
