Job Purpose
The Extrusion Line Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion equipment to produce high-quality products in accordance with safety, quality, and production standards. This role plays a key part in supporting plant operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and contributing to a collaborative team environment. The operator is expected to demonstrate flexibility, technical proficiency, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Principal Accountabilities
Safety & Compliance
+ Follow all operating, safety, and quality procedures rigorously.
+ Participate in safety improvement activities (e.g., JSAs, PBSAs, safety teams).
+ Safely perform all job functions, including equipment handling and maintenance.
Production & Equipment Operation
+ Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot extrusion and auxiliary equipment (e.g., CCS systems, cross-cut saws, take-off systems).
+ Adjust saw and squareness settings; safely change saw and knife blades.
+ Identify and process extrusion scrap materials using recycling systems.
+ Handle masking systems, including roll retrieval and installation.
+ Perform finishing changeovers with minimal scrap and downtime.
+ Accurately count, package, and store products to prevent quality issues.
Quality Assurance
+ Understand and apply ISO standards and extrusion work instructions.
+ Use measurement tools to verify product quality and identify defects.
+ Take corrective actions and communicate quality concerns to machine operators.
+ Perform all required quality checks consistently.
Teamwork & Support
+ Train and mentor team members on line operator duties and safety procedures.
+ Collaborate effectively across departments to support plant-wide operations.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free work area.
+ Demonstrate a positive, cooperative attitude and strong sense of responsibility.
+ Show flexibility in job assignments and work overtime as needed.
+ Maintain consistent attendance and participate in required meetings.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Previous experience in extrusion operations preferred.
+ Operation of forklifts and material handling equipment.
+ Proficient in MOVEX and basic computer systems.
+ Strong mechanical and technical understanding of equipment.
+ Safe working behavior.
+ Adaptable, flexible, and able to prioritize.
+ Driven, thorough, and driven with a strong sense of urgency.
+ Team-oriented with leadership and mentoring qualities.
+ Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
+ Superior attendance record required.
