    This position is for the Sr Director, Contract Management team. This leader will be responsible for setting the vision and driving the culture for Contract Management, a critical component to enabling the success of our commercial operations organization. Contract Management team is responsible for leading all processes related to the full contracting lifecycle including: contract activation, contract performance management, rebates, premiums, compliance, and indirect channels for National and Regional IDNs, GPOs, Government contracts, ASC, and specialty markets across all US Business Units. This team ensures that all US Contracts are successfully implemented and meet compliance for the success of the Customer Solutions Division. This leader is responsible for the strategy for the transition plans and leading the teams lifting and shifting in from the Business Units across Stryker, and determining optimal long term structure in partnership with the VP, Commercial Operations. The leader of this group will set the strategic direction of the team, manage relationships with key internal stakeholders, and seek new ideas to expand the team’s footprint. The leader will also be responsible for seeking to improve existing processes and tools through innovation and developing a culture for an insight-driven enterprise.

     

    The Sr. Director of Contract will set the strategic direction of the team, manage relationships with key internal stakeholders, and seek new ideas to expand the team’s footprint. The Senior Director, Contract Operations must have deep experience in identifying, recruiting, hiring and performance managing diverse team members to success as defined by CS and Stryker. The Senior Director, Contract Strategy, must have a proven track record in handling complex employee situations, developing HR, finance and marketing partnerships to ensure maximum team performance. In addition, they must be an expert across the Portfolio BUs business models, products and success metrics, while also establishing strong leadership relationships.

     

    The leader will also be responsible for seeking to improve existing processes and tools through innovation and developing a culture for an insight-driven enterprise. building an organization that attracts desired talent with necessary skills and retains them by building and maintaining the team’s functional area capabilities (account operations, contract administration, compliance, etc.) and domain expertise (customer segments, contract strategy, etc.). This leader will also need to collaborate across functional teams at Stryker, namely Contract Management, Customer Intelligence, and Legal. The leader will also have a direct channel to executive leadership and will need to build and communicate business cases to warrant strong focus and support for Contract Enablement.

    Your Role:

    + Set the vision for Commercial Enablement in line with organizational priorities and convert the vision into a pragmatic roadmap

    + Responsible for the strategy for the transition plans and leading the teams lifting and shifting in from the Business Units across Stryker, and determining optimal long term structure in partnership with the VP, Commercial Operations

    + Responsible for leading the Indirect Channels strategy and interface with Finance Leadership COE Leadership across Stryker

    + Responsible for leading the strategy for Contract Activation and the full internal life cycle for Strategic contracts across Stryker SCS and all Business Units

    + In partnership with Vice President, Contract Operations, establish routine cadence of communication with the Business Unit Leadership and SCS EAM teams to understand their contracting strategies and ensure alignment of activities as they relate to contracts

    + Ensure alignment to BU Portfolio initiatives as outlined by BU pricing and contracting strategies defined annually and updated quarterly

    + Responsible for collaboration across all Stryker Business Units and interface with Customer Solutions Strategic Sales Organizations.

    + Provide regular reporting to leadership on the Contract Operations team’s utilization and effectiveness, as well as the impact of the support delivered to internal stakeholders

    + Coordinate with peer leaders across Contracting, Customer Intelligence, business units, and other Stryker teams on strategic initiatives to improve performance, processes, tools, and technology

    + Make recommendations on contracting best practices to our Commercial Enablement and Enterprise Account Management teams to ensure continued success of SCS

    + Continuously review internal processes and technology to identify improvement opportunities and develop implementable strategies targeted to improve effectiveness and efficiency

    + Identify innovative / next generation contract enablement use cases to improve performance of internal stakeholders and the organization

    + Manage relationships with senior stakeholders in internal client organizations (Contracting, Customer Intelligence, business units, Legal) and serve as a point of escalation and resolution for all issues related to contract enablement

    + Facilitate continual learning and development of the team to ensure proper knowledge of contracting, contract operations, contract administration, etc., including necessary tools and technology

    + Provide coaching and mentorship to Managers, Senior Managers, and Directors on contract enablement tools, technology, objectives, and people management skills

    + Leverage staffing plans created by Managers and Senior Managers to manage a budget

    + Help Managers, Senior Managers, and Directors continuously evaluate and adjust the committed scope of work against the staffing plan to ensure high quality output in a timely manner

    + Ensure work life balance, create career options, create back up plan and appropriate redundancies to avoid disruption while managing the budget

    + Champion Stryker best practices and processes

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related field, with 20+ years of relevant experience OR

    + Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related field, with 15+ years of relevant experience

    + (Preferred) 7+ years of experience in the medical devices and technology industry and contracting and account operations functional area

    + Experience with contract lifecycle management tools and technologies (e.g., Model N) and ERPs

    + Proven track record of leadership, particularly within the medical devices and technology industry and account operations functional area

    + Ability to actively collaborate within organizations to drive understanding and adoption of support provided by Account Operations team

    + Ability to handle ambiguous situations and think strategically about improving account operations capabilities and functions

    + Outstanding oral and written communication skills and presentation skills, especially with respect to clearly communicating complex data-driven topics to a senior leadership team
