    Seeking Optimization and Algorithms Engineer with 2+ years of research and development experience to contribute to and lead applied R&D programs.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Qualified Candidates will be able to:

    + Apply strong programming capability in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Python, MATLAB

    + Demonstrate advanced knowledge of shape/topology optimization techniques and algorithms

    + Establishing numerical models described by partial differential equations using the finite element, finite difference, or finite volume method

    Desirable, but not mandatory, qualifications include:

    + Knowledgeable in applying the adjoint method or automatic differentiation for design sensitivity analysis

    + Familiarity with gradient based optimization methods for numerical design of engineering systems

    + Experience or interest in any of the following: machine learning, computational geometry, surrogate modeling, uncertainty quantification, integrated computational materials engineering (ICME)

    + Participate in multiple technical programs at once (typically 3 or 4 programs simultaneously)

    + Quickly understand new technology areas and manage and adapt to rapidly changing customer needs

    + Communicate technical results, plans, and issues with internal and external customers, including presenting and writing reports and proposals

    + Support the pursuit of new business opportunities through proposal writing, opportunity identification and participation in meetings

    + Stay current in technology advancements and embrace growth opportunities

    Requirements

    + Exclusive US citizenship is required

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required

    + MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics from an accredited university

    + Minimum 2 years of experience in applied research and development is preferred. Experience gained conducting research in MS and PhD programs will be counted towards years of experience.

    Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience
