The City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) is seeking an Employee Support Coordinator to oversee the implementation of a variety of initiatives within the Engineering Services group including the workgroup’s workforce development plan, employee engagement and support plan, equity, communication, and process improvement planning as part of the Engineering Support Services team (ESS). ESS facilitates effective and efficient support of the delivery of the BES Capital Improvement Program (CIP) through centralized overall project administration and project quality assurance. We enable and support high-performing project teams utilizing best practices to deliver on-time and on-budget capital projects.
What you’ll get to do:
+ Support the development and implementation of the groupwide workforce strategy, including developing resources, providing training, and working with managers individually.
+ Support the group job rotation and staffing planning, including tracking employee training and certification needs.
+ Support recruitment and retention planning, including connecting with internal and external groups.
+ Coordinate the development and implementation of onboarding tools and resources, equity training and planning, and other employee support resources.
+ Coordinate groupwide employee engagement planning.
+ Support planning for group process improvement activities.
+ Provide coordination support for group committees such as the Employee Recognition and Equity committees.
+ Coordinate groupwide meetings and events.
+ Coordinate and support division and team meetings as necessary.
An ideal candidate will demonstrate through direct or transferrable experience:
+ Collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs or activities, organizational unit projects, and initiatives.
+ Coordinating the sharing of information to ensure consistency in unit messaging and branding of programs, services, events, policies, and procedures to increase employee awareness of mission and goals.
+ Updating and maintaining internal databases, work schedules, and other tracking software; reviewing data, identifying gaps, and working with data reporters to correct missing information.
+ Organizing, coordinating, and providing training for program staff and evaluating training programs.
+ Planning, administering, and overseeing surveys and other program evaluation data collection efforts; collaborating with staff on survey design and reports; developing executive summaries and other reports for internal use.

To Qualify
