    Technical Skill Requirement:

    The role of Lead Automation Engineer demands a diverse and highly developed set of technical and soft skills. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in Automation engineering principles, advanced problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to lead and inspire teams.

    Technical Skills

    + Automation Technologies: Proficiency in Emerson DeltaV programming is a must. Proficiency in PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, etc.), SCADA systems, and industrial networking is desirable.

    + Hardware Integration: Strong understanding of sensors, actuators, HMIs, and interfacing with process control equipment.

    + Control Systems and Standards: Deep knowledge in control theory, PID tuning, and feedback systems. Familiarity with the ISA-88 standards and experience in implementing batch automation

    + Data Integration: Competence in integrating automation solutions with Data Lakes / Data Analytics Solutions for data-driven insights.

    + Cybersecurity: Awareness of security best practices, especially in industrial automation networks (ISA/IEC 62443 standards).

    + Testing and Validation: Knowledge and experience in developing testing frameworks, test case development, and validation protocols execution in Automation space.

    Soft Skills

    + Leadership: Experience in managing and motivating teams, setting clear goals, and providing constructive feedback.

    + Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills for reporting, presenting, and cross-department collaboration.

    + Stakeholder Management: Experience in managing diverse stakeholders and working in complex environment

    + Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset and creative approach to resolving technical and operational challenges.

    + Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies, shifting priorities, and dynamic project requirements.

    + Attention to Detail: Diligence in documentation, system validation, and compliance tracking.

    Qualifications

    + 8+ years of professional experience in automation, with at least 2 years in a team leadership or senior technical role.

    **Salary and Other Compensation** :

    The annual salary for this position is between $75,000 - $123,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

     

    This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
