In coordination with the Manager, manages the daily operation of the Courier Service for the Network. Oversees all activities relating to the Courier and Shuttle Service in accordance with established priorities and schedules. Schedules and monitors employees performing Courier functions. Prepares and maintains the delivery schedule and assures deliveries are timely to all customers. Serves as administrator of the Courier Software and is responsible for the Courier vehicles. Complies with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures at all times. Recommends procedural changes in process improvement, customer service, and productivity.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Supervises and directs the Courier staff and assumes responsibility for the daily operation of the Network and Shuttle Service.
+ Complies with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, infection control, and safety standards.
+ Compliance with the Department budget and is fiscally responsible when scheduling staff, routine deliveries, and emergency deliveries.
+ Responsible to assure Courier Software programs are maintained and working properly. Provides required reports on a monthly basis and as needed to measure quality, safety, operational cost, and productivity.
+ Assists with dispatching for the Courier Service, maintains routes, and handles routine and emergency requests in a timely manner, to the satisfaction of the customer.
+ Ensures that Courier and Shuttle vehicles are in safe, working order by scheduling repairs and preventative maintenance on the vehicles, reviewing daily driver’s vehicle condition reports, and keeping accurate up to date maintenance logs, in accordance with the Network Vehicle Policy.
+ Advises Manager and Director of Supply Chain Logistics of issues, concerns, or problems as they occur.
+ Schedules and prepares for network special functions.
+ Maintains compliance with all Hospital and Regulatory Agencies requirements.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Standing for up to four (4) hours per day, one (1) hour at a time. Sitting for up to four (4) hours per day, four (4) hours at a time. Continuous twisting and turning hands. Use of upper extremities for frequent lifting, carrying, and/or pushing up to 50 lbs. Frequently uses fingers for data entry, etc. Frequently stoops, bends, or reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision, and visual monotony.
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree in Business administration and/or supervisory experience with 5-7 years’ experience in Courier Logistics/Fleet Management.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in leadership, conflict management, and team building. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines – DOT. Thorough knowledge of Courier Software. Computer literate with Materials Management System – Package Tracking Program and experience with Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, Access. Ability to prepare reports and maintain records.
