    We are seeking a skilled Microbiology Lab Technician to perform Bioburden testing on medical device products and support the Microbiology team. This role involves media preparation and sterilization using aseptic techniques during sample preparation. The technician will recognize malfunctions in laboratory equipment and either notify management or perform simple repairs, along with conducting preventative maintenance and laboratory housekeeping. Adhering to procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices is crucial. The role also includes LAL testing and training on USP 61 and USP 62.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct Bioburden testing on medical device products.

    + Support the Microbiology team in daily operations.

    + Prepare and sterilize media utilizing aseptic techniques.

    + Recognize and address malfunctions in laboratory equipment.

    + Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping in the laboratory.

    + Follow protocols for data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices.

    + Perform LAL testing and undergo training on USP 61 and USP 62.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in media preparation and aseptic techniques.

    + Experience in microbiology and GMP practices.

    + Familiarity with medical devices and preventative maintenance.

    + Knowledge of USP testing, autoclave use, and bioburden testing.

    + Endotoxin testing experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 1-2 years of microbiology experience in school or industry settings.

    + Bachelor's Degree in Biology or Microbiology.

    + Minimum of 6 months experience with aseptic techniques.

    + Preferred 6 months experience with bioburden and GMP lab practices.

    + USP testing experience in food, pharma, or device sectors.

    + Experience with USP-61 or USP-62 is highly desirable.

    + Background in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or third-party testing labs preferred.

    Work Environment

    Join a dynamic Bio department with approximately 20 team members. The labs, while separated, collaborate closely with R&D and Chemistry labs, ensuring a clean and efficient work environment. The position is for the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 3 pm to 12 am.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
