    Electrical Inspector – Field-Based Role Supporting NYC School Assessments

     

    Schedule: Fieldwork from September through Memorial Day Weekend

     

    Start Date: Includes 3 weeks of paid training

     

    Work Type: 100% Field-Based | Team-Oriented | Seasonal with Return Option

     

    Are you an experienced electrical professional looking to make a meaningful impact in New York City’s public infrastructure? Join a dynamic team of inspectors conducting Building Condition Assessment Surveys (BCAS) for schools across Queens and Brooklyn. This is a hands-on, field-based role where your expertise will directly support the improvement and safety of educational facilities.

    What You’ll Do

    + Conduct electrical inspections as part of a 4-person team focused on school building assessments.

    + Perform HVAC and electrical system evaluations using standardized protocols.

    + Use an iPad-based system to document findings—no complex tech required.

    + Travel throughout Queens and Brooklyn during non-peak hours for site visits.

    + Participate in coordination meetings and collaborate with project leads.

    + Follow strict guidelines—no asbestos evaluation is required.

    What You Bring

    + 5+ years of electrical inspection and surveying experience.

    + Experience in electrical engineering or related technical field.

    + Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and apply electrical codes.

    + Experience with institutional or K–12 projects is highly preferred.

    + Familiarity with NYCHA, BCAS, MEP systems, and construction management is a plus.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
