Position OverviewUnited Health Services is seeking a Medical Secretary to support administrative functions within the Workers’ Compensation division. This behind-the-scenes role is responsible for data entry, processing authorizations, handling insurance correspondence, and ensuring documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory guidelines. This position plays a key part in maintaining the integrity and flow of information throughout the department.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in medical office administration or workers’ compensation workflows. The ideal candidate will work well independently and assist the Nurse Case Manager team. $17.05 - $22.17 per hour, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities
+ Works to assist Nurse Case Manager Team
+ Enters data accurately and efficiently
+ Answers 1-800 UHS line for Workers Comp related questions
+ Fax and emails worker comp documents to employees and carriers.
+ Tracks OSHA log
+ Tracks and assists with documentation and claims processing for Medicare and Workers’ Compensation claims.
+ Has knowledge of and participates in departmental and organizational initiatives for performance improvement (PI).
+ Demonstrates knowledge of office equipment as appropriate. Maintains office equipment and makes recommendations for equipment acquisition.
Position RequirementsMinimum Required
+ High School Diploma or equivalent; knowledge of general office procedures and strong computer skills.
Preferred
+ Experience as a medical receptionist; knowledge of insurance applicable to outpatient medical care.
+ Basic knowledge of principles and procedures for physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology and cardiac rehabilitation.
