Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Prototype Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Prototype Assembly Senior Technician.
Reporting to the Prototype Development Assembly Technician Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to lead planning and preparation for Minor Model Prototype Assembly builds, lead a team of 2-6 North American Manufacturing Center (NAMC) team members during large CV builds, participate in vehicle assembly during small retrofit builds, may support in Evaluation processes, Weld, Paint and Fabrication as needed.
What you’ll be doing
+ Assembly Project leader for current and future minor model builds – this includes creating detailed operating plans, coordinating project preparation for Assembly team, coordinating between assembly line and customer (parts or vehicle concerns).
+ Assembly and retrofitting vehicles for major/minor model changes.
+ Identify, document and initial troubleshooting of issues during assembly.
+ Perform vehicle evaluations in relation to routing quality, serviceability, and water leak.
+ Standardize internal processes, conduct reflection and propose continuous improvement activities.
+ Support budget, resource, and strategic plans; support annual goals development and interdependent safety mindset of the group.
+ Safety Management System ownership.
What you bring
+ Minimum 7 years automotive assembly experience or a combination of automotive experience and advanced technical training.
+ 2 years Project Schedule Management.
+ 2 years experience setting up vehicle assembly processes.
+ 2 years Team Leadership / Development.
+ 2 years Experience working with KPIs for goal setting and process management.
+ Intermediate proficiency in using CAD software to manipulate vehicle data (CATIA, XVL, etc.)
+ Intermediate proficiency in SMS, SMS-BR, W-IPS and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Added bonus if you have
+ Lead/Participation in Quality problem solving.
+ Experience in vehicle electronic trouble shooting and diagnosing.
+ Experience reading vehicle design/electrical drawings.
+ Experience performing vehicle evaluations against documented standards.
+ Experience using AutoCAD for shop floor layout.
