Job Title: Weekend Material Handler/Forklift Operator
Job Description
The Material Handler is responsible for the use of motorized industrial equipment to load and unload trucks, transport and locate materials, pick and put-away products, and replenish picking locations.
Responsibilities
+ Operate motorized industrial equipment such as stand-up forklift, sit-down forklift, stock picker, and reach truck.
+ Perform daily checks of equipment prior to operating.
+ Operate within standard operating procedures.
+ Use hand-held or truck-mounted radio frequency (RF) scanners.
+ Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
+ Maintain accurate logs or other required documentation depending on the job task.
+ Follow work order instructions to perform assignments throughout the facility.
+ Follow documented procedures with accuracy.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in forklift operation and other motorized equipment.
+ Experience in inventory control, picking, packing, and material handling.
+ Ability to operate RF scanners.
+ Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
+ Good math skills.
+ Capability to lift 45 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to pass the motorized industrial equipment test and obtain a license.
+ Ability to rotate positions/jobs as required.
+ Participation in department meetings and projects.
+ Ability to meet safety, accuracy, productivity, and housekeeping minimum standards.
+ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Timely and regular attendance.

Work Environment
The work shift is from Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 6:30 PM in a non-climate controlled production environment. While performing duties, employees are expected to reach, swivel, carry items, speak, and actively listen in a moderate noise level environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
