Job Title: Die Repairman - 1st Shift
Job Description
As a die repairman, you will be tasked with maintaining and repairing dies during the 1st shift, ensuring the effective operation of stamping presses and tool room equipment. The role demands an experienced individual with at least 7 years of experience who can immediately contribute to the team.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and repair dies in stamping presses ranging from 600 to 1,000 progressive, tandem, and transfer presses across 42 different machines.
+ Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with the fingers of the press.
+ Perform lockout/tagout procedures and enter the press to troubleshoot broken punches.
+ Operate cranes, forklifts, and other lifting equipment safely, requiring certification.
+ Utilize press gauges for tool and die setup.
+ Assist in training and educating Die Setters on various processes.
+ Read and interpret drawings and specifications for tools, dies, prototypes, or models.
+ Repair jigs, dies, and fixtures, setting up machine tools to troubleshoot problems.
Essential Skills
+ Progressive and transfer die troubleshooting experience.
+ 7+ years of experience in tool and die maintenance.
+ Tool room machinist skills, including manual machining and surface grinding.
+ Certified in crane, forklift, and hi-lo operation.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with tools for dies both in the press and tool room.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Problem-solving skills for in-press troubleshooting.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
+ Prioritize and address tool and die maintenance needs.
+ Welding and fabrication experience.

Work Environment
Work in a stamping and robotic weld facility within an older building equipped with 42 presses and robots. Steel toes, safety glasses, and sleeves are required attire. The facility runs two shifts and operates with a lean workforce.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Center Line, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.90 - $33.90/hr.
