Job Title: Wiring Technician

Job Description

The Automotive Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and computer-based equipment in vehicles. The role involves assembling and installing various types of wiring, equipment, and electrical components according to drawings and specifications. The technician will diagnose, test, and observe electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and systems using testing and measuring instruments, troubleshoot and repair electric equipment, inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify defects and ensure compliance with codes, test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical systems, and test repaired electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance.

Responsibilities

+ Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and computer-based equipment in vehicles.

+ Assemble and install various types of wiring, equipment, and electrical components according to drawings and specifications.

+ Diagnose, test, and observe electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and systems using testing and measuring instruments.

+ Troubleshoot and repair electric equipment.

+ Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify defects and ensure compliance with codes.

+ Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical systems.

+ Test repaired electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance.

Essential Skills

+ Wire harness and wiring experience.

+ Ability to read and interpret schematics.

+ Experience with automotive electrical systems.

+ Previous experience in wiring houses, home entertainment systems, and vehicles.

+ Hands-on experience in building harnesses and running wires.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Diploma or Certificate in Auto Mechanics/Electrics from a certified learning institution.

+ Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience as an Auto Electrician.

+ Experience in an automotive OEM quality environment, including compliance with standards such as ISO9001.

+ Experience in wiring, slicing, and programming is a plus.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment with an auto-body type feel. The facility includes trucks, welding, and cutting activities, which can be loud. Eye protection and steel-toed footwear are required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holly Springs, Mississippi.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
