Description:
We are looking for skilled iron workers for our commercial steel building team in Rapid City, SD. You will be performing a variety of structural steel erecting, fitting, and welding responsibilities to build industrial scale steel buildings. We are looking for skilled individuals who can hit the ground running with minimal training and supervision.
Responsibilities
+ Erect and fit structural steel components for the renovation project.
+ Operate forklifts, boom lifts, and effectively communicate with crane operators using hand signals.
+ Demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in large-scale commercial structural steel building.
+ Read specifications and follow blueprints, sketches, and other instructions to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
+ Unload and stack fabricated iron and steel so that it can be lifted with slings.
+ Set up hoisting equipment to safely position and unite steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks.
+ Use shears, rod-bending machines, torches, hand tools, and welding equipment to cut, bend, and weld the structural and reinforcing iron and steel.
+ Align structural and reinforcing iron and steel vertically and horizontally, using tag lines, plumb bobs, lasers, and levels and make corrections to erected structures as needed.
+ Connect iron and steel with bolts, wire, or weld.
+ Install metal decking used in building construction.
+ Knowledge of rigging and load charts.
Pay
+ $25/hr to $32/hr
+ Pay Depending on Experience and Industry Knowledge

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Over 2 years of experience in large-scale commercial steel building/iron working
+ Knowledge of structural welding is advantageous
+ OSHA 10 certification
+ Concrete form and rebar handling

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
