Job Title: Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a versatile carpenter to join our team. You will start your day at the office, receive your project assignment, gather necessary tools and materials, and travel with a team to the job site. After completing the day's tasks, you will clean up, pack up, and return to the shop. You'll work with a small crew, focusing mainly on multi-family apartments, retirement communities, and other construction projects.

Responsibilities

+ Install windows and doors, which constitutes two-thirds of daily tasks.

+ Trim out windows and doors to ensure a polished finish.

+ Install hardware with precision.

+ Frame rooms to meet construction specifications.

+ Perform deck work and install cabinets.

+ Engage in remodel and tenant improvement work.

+ Collaborate with team members to complete carpentry tasks efficiently.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in finish carpentry, millwork, and cabinetry.

+ Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.

+ Experience with drywall, hand tools, and blueprint reading.

+ At least 2 years of general carpentry experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Valid driver's license is strongly preferred; CDL A is ideal but not required.

+ High level of professionalism is essential.

Work Environment

Our carpentry team consists of 8 skilled individuals, supported by a service specialist. The team tackles multiple projects daily, with varying durations based on client needs. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays. During busy periods, hours may extend from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The dress code includes jeans and a t-shirt, with safety gear provided after two weeks of employment. Our office is located in Grimes, IA, with a dynamic team environment fostering collaboration.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grimes, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
