Traverse Heart and Vascular (THV), Munson Medical Center’s out standing cardiology group, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its exceptional team of experts.

This collaborative and collegial group includes 25 highly skilled physicians and 19 advanced practice providers (APPs) who deliver leading-edge cardiovascular care across northern Michigan.

We are currently recruiting an APP to serve our East Region, with a primary focus in Petoskey, Gaylord and Indian River.. This position will initially include one day per week, with the potential for growth.

Ready to make a difference? Position Duties Include:

+ Performs comprehensive patient assessments in the ambulatory setting, including history and physical examinations, Cardiology Consultation and routine office follow up care.

+ Orders diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms, stress tests (exercise or pharmacologic), x-rays, ECG’s, laboratory tests, and interprets test result.

+ Develops and implements patient management plans, records electronic office notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care with collaboration and general supervision of the THV physicians.

+ Prescribes pharmacologic and other therapeutic treatment for the benefit of patient health.

+ Performs therapeutic procedures, as needed, including post-procedure wound care. May be trained in supervision of stress testing, both non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic.

+ Educates and counsels patients and their families regarding diagnosis, medical and procedural treatments, compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, test results.

Standard Qualifications

Education / Training:

+ Master's Degree in Nursing OR a Masters in Physician Assistant studies

Work Experience :

+ 2 – 3 years of Cardiology experience is preferred

Certification, Licensure, Registration :

+ State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license required
