    Overview:

    TEKsystems is partnering with a leading healthcare organization to hire a Patient Access Representative. This role begins with a 2-week training period in Hartford, followed by full-time work in Wallingford. You’ll be part of a fast-paced medical business office, handling over 100 calls per day, scheduling cardiology appointments, and ensuring a high level of service—especially for elderly patients who require patience and empathy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Answer high volumes of incoming patient calls

    + Triage calls to appropriate providers or testing departments

    + Schedule cardiology appointments and manage patient intake

    + Verify insurance and update patient registration records

    + Deliver exceptional service with a focus on patient experience

    Required Skills:

    + Customer service in a medical setting

    + Patient intake and registration

    + Medical scheduling and EMR systems

    + Experience in medical call centers or access centers

    + Ability to manage high call volumes professionally

    Preferred Skills:

    + Experience with triage

    + Strong communication and organizational abilities

    Work Environment:

    + Fast-paced, non-patient-facing medical office

    + 100+ calls per day

    + Team of 4 phone operators when fully staffed

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
