    JOB SUMMARY:

    As a Sourcing Specialist II, you will manage the supply base to ensure that all suppliers meet our four sourcing priorities: Delivery, Quality, New Product Integration, and Cost Competitiveness. You will also lead coordination of resources and schedules cross-functionally to support production vehicles. You will develop and execute strategies for the Powertrain Electrical supply base.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES :

    Supplier Relations:

    + Directly manage and support established supplier relationships.

    + Identify and communicate internally any supplier concerns or opportunities.

    + Support cost recovery initiatives.

    + Support problem resolution discussions with suppliers and ensures the adequacy and timeliness of supplier corrective action plans.

    + Support development and implementation of supplier contracts.

    + Coordinate the implementation of cost reduction projects, supplier transitions, and tool transitions.

    + Monitor cost, schedule, technical, and drawing release status of projects.

    + Enter cost changes, assign selected suppliers, and support sourcing projects.

    + Prepare and solicit requests for quotes and proposals based on the defined commodity strategy.

    + Coordinate and communicate new component releases and design changes with suppliers.

    + Negotiate tooling cost with global suppliers and ensure that costs are appropriate.

    + Establish and negotiate contractual commitments to ensure longer-term cost savings to meet departmental goals.

    + Mitigate tariffs in cooperation with suppliers.

    Sourcing Priority Management:

    + Perform cost analysis to identify opportunities.

    + Identify and execute cost reduction projects.

    + Work with suppliers to resolve price and invoice discrepancies.

    + Support supplier quality function in determining root cause, necessary containment and counter measure activities for quality related issues.

    + Monitor and drive supplier performance for assigned categories to ensure suppliers are meeting Polaris requirements for quality and delivery.

    + Help support part shortages and delivery issues when necessary.

    + Monitor supplier lead-times and production capacity improvement initiatives to ensure schedule flexibility.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Education & Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration or technical area

    + APICS CPIM and/or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P. desired.

    + 2+ years of purchasing or relevant experience (sales, engineering, etc.)

    + Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

    + Effective negotiation, decision making, and problem-solving skills.

    + Demonstrated willingness to lead with a strong ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

    + Proven tactical expertise with a strong track record in project execution

    + Excellent written & verbal communication within team and cross-functionally.

    + Highly organized and effective in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

    + Ability to maintain productive working relationships with suppliers.

    + Capable of reading and interpreting engineering documentation and technical data.

    + Fundamental knowledge of MAPICS MRP, Jaggaer SRM and other web-based business systems.

    + Experience and comfort in presenting to leadership, including PowerPoint development.

    + Proficiency in project management tools and ability to thrive in managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.

    + Interest in engines, electrical systems, or powersports is a plus

    Working Conditions:

    + Fast-paced office environment

    + 5-25% travel may be required

    + Off-hour virtual meetings with international suppliers as needed

    The starting pay range for Minnesota is $68,000 to $80,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
