Job Description:
The Small Animal Hospital is excited to announce openings for passionate and dedicated Veterinary Technicians to join our Oncology service. Positions are available in Medical, Radiation, and Surgical Oncology. We are seeking technicians who are passionate about the opportunities the oncology specialty can provide in prolonging the lives of their patients, while extending compassion and empathy to their clients and loved ones. Technicians provide support by assisting veterinarians with exams and treatments, as well as providing insight, instruction, and demonstration to veterinary students

Key Responsibilities may include:
+ Assist with daily intake and discharge of oncology cases
+ Assist with patient evaluations or rechecks by assisting in patient restraint, obtaining and submitting samples, scheduling with other services for diagnostic or consultation purposes, and providing treatment or medications
+ Perform general nursing care such as venipuncture, catheter placement, patient restraint, treatments, medication administration, and sample collection
+ Conduct sedated and anesthetized procedures, including patient monitoring and recovery
Service Specific Responsibilities may include:
+ Deliver radiation treatments (including warm-up and troubleshooting of LinAc and assist with radiation planning CTs)
+ Oversee daily operations of chemotherapy clinic, ensure accurate drug administration, and maintain safety protocols
+ Assist surgeons and students with instrumentation and sterile technique
+ Assist with minor surgical procedures, bandage changes, and suture removals
Work Schedule:
+ Hours: Monday - Friday, with shifts typically between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm.
+ Full-Time Benefits: This is a full-time, benefited position and is considered essential personnel.

Preferred Qualifications
• Graduate from an accredited American Veterinary Medical Association program for veterinary technology
OR
• Credentialed veterinary technician

This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.
