Summary You will serve as a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC in the Public Works Department of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Responsibilities You will execute load bank testing and comprehensive performance testing procedures to ensure generator output and efficiency meet operational requirements. You will perform installation, inspection, modification, and repair of electrical power support systems and distribution equipment. You will conduct operational assessments of newly installed contractor equipment to determine deficiencies. You will service generator system components such as voltage regulators, governors, starter motors, fuel system components, and oil pumps. You will control electrical power distribution through operation of manual and remote switches, circuit breakers, rheostats, and other control devices on transfer switches, switchgear, and distribution panels. You will service and maintain uninterruptible power supply (ups) systems and associated manual and automatic transfer switching equipment. You will monitor and maintain proper levels of oil, fuel, lubricants, coolant, and battery water while servicing air filters, pumps, batteries, and drive belts to ensure optimal equipment operation. You will perform troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis of complex electrical component malfunctions in power generation and distribution systems.
