About You and this Role
Dow Knoxville Operations is looking for a Senior Process Control Technician (PCAT), to support on-site activities related to the site network, software, hardware, and process automation systems. The PCAT provides preventative maintenance and 24x7 troubleshooting support for installed base systems. Minimizes plant downtime caused by process automation system failures, while providing services that are cost effective and sustainable. Develops knowledge of all current hardware, operating system software, networking systems and system software. Develops proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience. Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities
+ Provides care and troubleshooting of the process automation systems, and their associated networks and interfaces.
+ Provides corrective support in response to a system error condition or failure as the first point of escalation from the plant.
+ Performs predictive and preventative maintenance (PPM) and health checks on systems.
+ Participates in software and hardware upgrades.
+ Understands and follows all identified Dow Process Automation work processes, such as Problem Resolution and Request Management, S&OP Case entry, Engineering and Maintenance Asset database updates.
+ Completes small project work including system installation, configuration, design, and development.
+ Tracks and redeploys assets.
+ Provides training and knowledge transfer to plant system focal points, as well as other site support resources.
+ Interfaces with others in the Plant who support process control on troubleshooting and upgrades.
+ Monitors system diagnostics aligned with plan process control staff.
+ Participates in risk assessment when activities to the system are required.
+ Escalates issues to additional support resources and follow-ups, as necessary.
Required Qualifications
+ A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
+ A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or operations experience
+ A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) proc
Preferred Qualifications
+ Associate's degree is preferred
+ 5+ years of manufacturing of operations experience
+ PLC troubleshooting experience
+ Delta B troubleshooting experience
Skills
+ Automated Systems- Technical ability to design, implement, and maintain automated systems
+ Process Automation - Programing, data analysis, workflow design and communication with an understanding of automation tools and project management
+ Systems Software - Including programing, operating systems knowledge, data structures and algorithms with an understanding of computer architecture and networking
+ Process Control - Ability to monitor, analyze and adjust processes to achieve desired outcome
Physical Demands
+ Essential functions of this position may require, among other things, that the employee use particular types of equipment -- such as on-site safety equipment that has specific weight limitations whereby the individual’s own weight, plus the weight of tools and other items and materials, must not exceed a certain threshold. (For example, some types of safety equipment may be rated for a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds total.)
