    Electronic Security Technologist

     

    Our client is seeking an Electronic Security Technologist for a temporary position (W2 Only) in Washington DC

    Position Details:

    Duration: 1 year

     

    Hours: Hybrid Position 40 hrs/week

     

    Pay $74,000 - $125,000

    What to Expect:

    The Electronic Security Technologist will play a vital role in supporting the organization's security infrastructure through vulnerability assessments, security design reviews, and system validation. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation and operation of security systems. The role demands excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong relationships across various teams.

    Qualifications for Success:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Ten (10) or more years of professional experience in the design, review, and application of physical and electronic security systems for two or more of the following sectors involving new construction, redevelopment, and renovation:

    + Commercial Office

    + Industrial

    + Transportation Systems

    + Transportation Infrastructure

    + Ten (10) or more years of professional experience creating detailed functional designs and associated Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) that leverage the following risk mitigation techniques:

    + Video Surveillance

    + Physical Access Control

    + Portal-based Intrusion Detection

    + Wide-area Perimeter Intrusion Detection

    + Active Deterrents

    + Physical Barriers

    + Psychological Barrier

    + Current PSP or CPP certification from the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International)

    + Current Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Professional Designation (CPD) certification from the National Institute of Crime Prevention (NICP)

     

    Preferred Qualification

     

    + Certification from one or more IP surveillance camera (IP-CCTV) manufacturer: Axis, Avigilon, Sony, Bosch, etc.

    + Certification from one or more Video Management System (VMS) manufacturer: Avigilon, Genetec, Milestone, etc.

    + Certification from one or more Physical Access Control System (PACS) manufacturer: Galaxy, Lenel/S2, Software House, etc.

    + Familiarity with state and national building and other codes related to physical and electronic security systems (NEC/NFPA 70, ADA, ICC, ASCE).

    + Familiarity with inter-city passenger rail operations, infrastructure, and pertinent safety and security regulations.

     

    People Skills

     

    + Strong interpersonal and time management skills

    + Proficiency in communicating financial information to various stakeholders and related technical staff.

    + Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects.

    + Maintain effective communication with the program manager, project managers, and team members.

    + Interact well with other disciplines and clients in a manner that builds productive and trusted relationships.

    + Excellent planning and organization skills are required for our demanding environment, and must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new duties.

    + Excellent communication skills
