    JOB SUMMARY:

    This position serves as the Agency Rules Coordinator and reports to the Legislative and Cabinet Services Director. The position is in the Selected Exempt Service pay plan. Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not necessarily limited to:

     

    + Serving as the agency’s expert on the rulemaking process.

    + Monitoring agency rulemaking to ensure it is proceeding expeditiously.

    + Providing guidance on rulemaking to agency staff.

    + Coordinating the development and submission of all statutorily required reports on rulemaking.

    + Serving as the agency’s primary contact with the Joint Administrative Procedures Committee.

    + Creating and maintaining a manual providing guidance on the rulemaking process.

    + Acting as a moderator and facilitator in rulemaking workshops and hearings, as needed.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    + Two or more years of relevant professional experience preparing and/or reviewing rulemaking notices.

    + Two or more years of relevant professional experience with the State of Florida’s laws, rules, and procedures.

    + Experience developing and/or coordinating the development of agency rule packages.

    + Experience drafting correspondence related to rulemaking activities.

    + The incumbent of this position must have knowledge of Florida’s Rulemaking process, be able to work under tight deadlines, possess excellent organizational and communication skills, be able to conduct research and quickly assimilate large amounts of information.

    SUBSTITUTIONS:

    + Bachelor’s degree or higher can substitute for four years of experience.

    PREFERENCES:

    + Experience with the State of Florida’s legislative proescs.

     

    SALARY: $75,000.00 - $95,004.00
