Job Summary/Basic Function
About This Role:
The Coordinator for Spindletop Museum reports to the Director of Spindletop Museum and is responsible for programming, event logistics, assisting and supervising part-time support staff, and reviewing marketing material, among other museum related tasks. Plays a critical role as a representative of the museum and provides customer service as it relates to safe programming for museum visitors. Also be required to assist with the set up and breakdown of special events and will maintain an effective and positive working relationship with guests, co-workers, and management.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
+ Plan and execute museum programs, educational activities, and special events.
+ Coordinate visitor services and support marketing, outreach, and public engagement.
+ Support daily museum operations, exhibit upkeep, and event logistics.
+ Supervise, train, and schedule part-time staff, student workers, and volunteers.
Key Competencies:
+ Able to follow instructions and perform assignments efficiently, independently, and effectively.
+ Able to work in both a group setting and alone with minimum supervision.
+ Availability to work varied shifts, mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
+ Ability to work quickly, effectively, and responsibly without constant direction.
+ Comfortable working around children and large crowds.
Physical Requirements:
+ Able to lift 25 lbs. and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.
+ Essential functions or requirements listed above may not be performed in every position with this title, and these essential functions may not include all related duties that might be requested and/or performed.
Job Conditions:
The work environment includes indoor and outdoor spaces, exposure to a wide variance of temperatures, exposure to dust and debris, and exposure to cleaning agents.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Associate degree in related field or administration; or
+ 1 year of progressively responsible programming experience; or
+ Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education of comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities

Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree,
+ 3 years of progressively responsible experience in related field
+ Experience working at a museum, programming, organizing events, and marketing.
