    Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the NAVY FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES of NAS JAX. Responsibilities You will begin all responsibility statements with 'You will'; each field should have no more than one sentence; list the responsibilities in a logical order; and avoid using federal or military jargon. 250 Characters. You will perform a visual inspection of assigned areas (e.g., buildings, structures, aircraft hangar) for violations of fire codes (e.g., fire hazards, housekeeping, defective wiring). You will perform structural firefighting and rescue duties in buildings, housing units, or confined spaces to eliminate and control fires. You will use hazard and risk assessment techniques to complete an initial hazardous materials incident analysis. You will administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillation (AED) for a patient. You will counsel, train, conduct performance reviews and recognize employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Leading day to day operations for assigned shift providing guidance on firefighter related procedures;2) Conducting Firefighting operations across structural, shipboard, and/or airfield environments, utilizing pre-incident planning and comprehensive understanding of layouts and design;3) Operating firefighting emergency vehicles and equipment;4) Delivering hazardous material emergency response services;5) Providing basic life support interventions during emergency responses.**NOTE: This experience must be supported by your resume.** ***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Fighter I & II, Airport Firefighter, Airport Rescue Firefighting (ARFF), Apparatus Driver-Operation for Pumper, HAZMAT Incident Commander, Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector I, Fire Instructor I, CPR and First Responder First Aid and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Life Support (NREMT-B). These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
