Overview
This position is responsible for providing input for rate and regulatory matters within the jurisdictions that LG&E and KU operate. Responsibilities include performing rate and cost analysis, developing revised tariff offerings, researching regulatory policy and practices, handling customer related issues with the regulatory agencies, assisting in regulatory compliance, and performing other department projects.

Responsibilities
• Assists in the preparation of base rate and regulatory mechanism filings with regulatory agencies.
• Coordinates work efforts of accounting, legal, operations, and other personnel both inside and outside the department on various projects.
• Assists with revenue and billing analyses, preparation of cost-of-service studies and pricing analyses, and other technical information for needed rate and regulatory filings.
• Develops and maintains database and spreadsheet models used in the preparation of rate cases, cost-of-service, lead/lag, regulatory mechanisms (e.g., Gas Supply Clause, Gas Line Tracker, Fuel Adjustment Clause, Off-System Sales Adjustment Clause, Environmental Cost Recovery, and Levelized Fuel Factor), formula rates, and other tariff filings and product offerings and ensures updates and enhancements required are implemented.
• Responds to inquiries of regulatory agencies and other intervening parties on pricing, rate design and tariff matters.
• Continually evaluates procedures to determine more efficient methods of performing duties and responsibilities while ensuring regulatory commitments and compliance objectives are met.
• Reviews progress on rate and regulatory matters to ensure priorities and schedules are met.
• Reviews and researches regulatory issues throughout the industry and provides input into the development of company position/strategies for management.
• Assists other lines of business on all aspects of regulation.
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in business, economics, or engineering.
Required Experience
+ 1+ years work experience
+ Must possess quantitative and modeling skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Attention to detail and work product accuracy are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
• Existing knowledge of regulatory processes, ratemaking principles, and accounting principles is beneficial.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Attention to detail and work product accuracy are important due to the significant financial impact that could result from an undetected error.
