    Heritage Ministries is in growth mode and are currently seeking a Director of Finance to join our team!

     

    The Director of Finance is responsible for the supervision and control of the general accounting area, financial statements, and report preparation. This is a Hybrid position and will report to Gerry, NY 2-3 days a week.

    Brief Summary of Duties:

    • Provides the CFO with financial and statistical information on all corporate activities.

    • Maintains financial control procedures and records that will ensure the sound and accurate representation of financial data.

    • Advises accounting personnel on financial questions.

    • Assists the CFO in preparing operating budgets and forecasts to evaluate the reasonableness thereof.

    • Proposes to the CFO, the preparation of statements, or changes in statements, that will better serve the management in analyzing results of operations.

    • Responsible for performance, retention and development of all assigned employees. Seeks direction from the Human Resource Director or Corporate Human Resource Coordinator regarding personnel matters. Takes appropriate action in accordance with personnel policies and procedures.

    • Serves as Assigned Supervisor for certain accounting department personnel. Participates in team hiring interviews, conducts employee performance reviews, disciplinary conferences and exit interviews in a timely fashion.

    • Examines policies and procedures to ensure implementation of proper internal controls. Reviews records to ensure reliability and conformance of procedures.

    • Regularly reviews entries to the general and statistical ledgers to assure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and procedures. Assists in preparing general and statistical ledger entries as required.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting preferably with experience in a LTC setting, with a CPA preferred; or any combination of experience, education, and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.

    • Certified in Public Accounting or substantial experience in Public Accounting preferred.

    • Knowledge of technical and professional principles and skills of accounting and long term care finance.

    • Knowledge of data processing capabilities and procedures.

    • Knowledge of appropriate management and supervisory skills needed to supervise the general accounting staff.

    • Knowledge of requirements and regulations set forth by Medicare and other related agencies.
