Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Special Operations Command Field Office (DISA-SOC). Responsibilities Lead Watch Floor Operations: Provide 24/7 oversight of DISA SOCOM activities, deliver on-demand DISN Services and applications support, coordinate timely troubleshooting, resolution for AISR Transport, and DISN Services trouble calls. Plan and manage installation/fielding of new or relocated DISN Services, develop support policies and procedures to ensure quality installations achieve highest DISA customer satisfaction. Assist in the planning and coordination of the installation of communications circuits to support the USSOCOM. Provide research and technical support to assist with the further development of DISN requirements. Develop and deliver regular readiness reports to management, outlining the organization's current posture, progress towards meeting Mission Essential Tasks (METs), and identified vulnerabilities. Provide AISR and DISN operational expertise to coordinate, oversee, and report the deployment, employment, and readiness of worldwide SOF C4 resources Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis. OR Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Planning, designing, documenting, or implementing wide area telecommunications services and reviewing contractor deliverables. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Education To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.
